6 ways to make your employees happier

Happy employees are key to the success of any organization.

Contrary to what is commonly thought, an adequate financial reward is not the only guarantee for a happy employee.

Here are some ways you can make your employees feel better:

1. Share

When there’s a change; or working on a large project, not all employees are involved directly.

It is important that even people who are not involvedת know what is going on in the organization and feel a part of the change, no matter the project they’re working on.

2. Stay flexible

Even the most loyal employees need to go out early sometimes or work from home.

A workplace that listens to its workers’ needs and is prepared to be flexible will succeed in preserving its employees.

3. Invest in a pleasant and adaptable work environment –

Invest in the workspace itself. It is important that the workspace is functional, that it suits the job’s requirements, represents the organization’s culture, and inspires the workers.

For example, creating shared spaces encourages interaction between employees and helps them express themselves and share ideas.

Such employees will feel deeply connected to their workplace and their fellow employees. Another idea is to break down the office routine by handling the walls.

Designed walls that convey the organization’s values can bring joy and keep a light atmosphere workspace.

4. Discover Interest –

Bosses tend to be in their own head and the task is not always clear to the employee as it is to the manager.

Try changing the routine and asking questions to get feedback from your employees:

Did they understand the task? What parts worked for them? What did they struggle with?

Show personal interest in your employees and they’ll feel more appreciated.

5. Learn to say thank you –

Sometimes, in everyday tasks, we tend to take our employees’ excellence for granted.

They might feel their existence is being noticed only when they mess up.

Therefore, it’s important to compliment your staff and make them feel seen, especially when they come up with a good idea or lead a new move.

6. Be available

One thing that keeps employees for long periods of time is a good relationship with their superiors.

Employees who know that their manager’s door is always open will feel more comfortable at work.
Share information and ask for their well-being – taking a personal interest in them increases motivation!
